We have received several reports of users being tricked into entering their code either in a Discord channel or on a fake website to steal the passcode. Never give your passcode to anyone else. Always enter your passcode directly on your Japanese esShop console. If you share the code online, a second person can redeem the code, resulting in a used code.
With the release of the Nintendo Switch system, the console is now region-free. This means users (everywhere) can now get access to Japan-specific games and demos.
To redeem the code and purchase exclusive Japanese games and content, users must either sign up or create a separate Japanese eShop account directly on their Switch console system. The redemption code is not compatible with accounts outside the Japanese eShop.
